Columbus Mechanical was appointed as the lead Mechanical pipework contractor for this purpose built School in the heart of Ipswich. Services here included a plant room incorporating 4 heating circuits to provide heat to the building and satisfy the hot water demands for the school. Heating throughout the building was primarily provided by radiant panel heaters, fed by screwed LCS pipework. An external 100mm below ground MDPE main was ran to feed the fire hydrant and sprinkler tank, as well as another 100mm MDPE main being ran to feed the school. A new 125mm gas main was also run below ground to serve a
science room, DT room, and the new 450kW boiler set up. This project was delivered on time, on budget, and to a very high standard.
